Eating Disorder Therapy

Yamilet Molina, LPC-Associate

Supervised by Johanna Torres, LPC-S

Hello! I’m Yamilet and am a LPC Associate based in Houston, Texas. I provide trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, weight inclusive care to individuals from all backgrounds and believe that all bodies deserve honor, respect, and care.

My passion is working with those who have a complicated relationship with food, their bodies, and exercise. I specialize in helping teens, adults, and athletes who struggle with eating disorders, disordered eating, body image issues, over-exercise, and chronic dieting. My work involves teaching clients to embrace and value their bodies while learning to navigate and cope with diet culture and societal expectations. I practice from a social justice lens and am Health at Every Size aligned to help clients reach body liberation. Apart from my specialty, I also work with individuals who struggle with anxiety, self-esteem, depression, and trauma.

I believe exploring the past is key to understanding the present & change. I use an insight-based approach to therapy to identify origins of patterns exacerbating life’s problems, as well as evidence-based approaches such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), strengths-based therapies, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) therapy to help clients gain perspective and insight while learning how to change their patterns so they can find relief.

About Me

I am a proud first-generation Latina therapist from Houston, and I take pride in my work to create a space where all feel welcome. I enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and identities who are committed to their healing journey and therapy process.

Fun Fact ABOUT Me

I’m an athlete turned counselor who is passionate about working with other athletes! As a former Division I athlete and current endurance athlete, I understand the unique pressures and struggles associated with an athletic career at many levels. My passion for working with athletes and active populations stems from the hardships, difficulties and mental health challenges I faced while being a competitive dancer.
